Naming Policy
Last updated: [LEGAL_UPDATED_DATE]
1. Allowed names
Letters a to z, numbers and hyphens, up to 30 characters.
2. Reserved names
Some names are reserved for the registry itself and cannot be applied for.
3. Protected names
Names of well-known organisations and public figures are protected. A protected name can be held only by a person or organisation that verifies their right to it.
4. No impersonation
You must not claim a name to pretend to be another person or organisation.
5. Reporting a problem
If you believe a name infringes your rights or impersonates you, email registry@card.business with the name and your evidence. We may suspend a name while we review.
6. Trademarks
Trademark owners may ask us to remove or transfer a name. We decide after reviewing the evidence.
7. Non-payment
If a yearly renewal payment is missed, we send reminders first. A namespace may be removed 14 days after the first notice. The page then shows a neutral holding message. Lifetime namespaces have no renewal payments.
8. If the registry closes
We will give members at least [CLOSURE_NOTICE_DAYS] days' notice and a way to export their profile and to forward their address.
